Hi, I’m a New York State resident from _____ and I’m calling to demand that Governor Cuomo commute the sentences of criminalized survivors of gender violence who are incarcerated for acts of survival. 

Since Cuomo assumed the Governorship in 2011, he’s only commuted the sentences of 21 people and only two of those commutations have been for survivors of gender violence. Right now, Cuomo has the power to commute the sentences of thousands of incarcerated New Yorkers, many of whom are imprisoned for survival actions, including defending their lives or the lives of their children, removing children from abusive people, and acts of coercion as accomplices. Governor Cuomo must use his clemency powers immediately and free them all NOW.
